Ethiopia and Eritrea both suffered casualties during weekend skirmishes along their border but Addis Ababa will not escalate the dispute on its own, an Ethiopian official said on Tuesday.
Somalia's al Shabaab Islamist group bombed a busy junction and a nearby restaurant in the town of Baidoa, killing at least eight people, a police officer and the group said.
