The Egyptian military found the personal belongings of passengers and other debris from an EgyptAir jet floating in the Mediterranean, Cairo said, confirming that the plane had plunged into the sea with 66 people on board.
An EgyptAir plane flying from Alexandria to Cairo was hijacked and forced to land in Cyprus but the passengers and crew were freed unharmed and the hijacker was arrested after giving himself up.
