Sri Lankan police yesterday busted an international heroin smuggling operation following the arrest of three most wanted drug smugglers.
A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced an Iranian man to 10 years in jail and a fine of QR200,000 for illicit drug possession and dealing, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported on Wednesday.
Sri Lanka has detained 14 foreigners after seizing 110 kilograms of heroin worth $7.5 million from an Iranian fishing trawler in the country's biggest drug bust for nearly three years, police said Sunday.
