FIFA President Gianni Infantino insisted that the 2022 World Cup would be hosted by Qatar as planned. Infantino told reporters in Doha: “Of course, the World Cup will take place in Qatar in 2022.”
FIFA president Gianni Infantino has met with HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani during a visit to Qatar which is hosting the 2022 World Cup, the committee overseeing preparations for the event said.
Newly elected FIFA President Gianni Infantino will visit the next two hosts of the World Cup, Russia and Qatar, next week, the global soccer body said on Friday.
