Bangladeshi forum marks Victory Day

Bangabandhu Parishad members marked the 39th Great Victory Day by reminding their community of the sacrifices of Bangladeshi war heroes
Doha-based Bangabandhu Parishad’s central committee celebrated the 39th ‘Great Victory Day’ of Bangladesh by holding a seminar recently.
Forum’s convener Mohamed Musa presided, while member secretary Yakub Ali conducted the proceedings. Community leader MA Taleb was the chief guest on the occasion, as co-convener MA Baker was hosted as special guest, officials said.
“After a nine-month-long bloody war under the brave leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, we earned the ultimate great victory of independence on December 16, 1971,” Musa said.
Taleb extended his sympathies to those who lost their loved ones during the war, while Baker paid homage to the more than three million Bangladeshis who sacrificed their lives  in the war.
Central leaders MA Baten and executive members Taufik Choudhury, Hannan, Bahar Mastar, Jahangir, Shahadat Talukder, Mohamed Shafi, S Islam Babu, Shafiqul Islam, Alam Shah, Gofran, Masud Sheikh, Shahul, Forkan, Ismail, Harun, Hazi Hafez Nizam, Tajul, Shahjahan and Hashem also spoke on the occasion, officials said.
