Deutsche International Schule Doha (DISD) or the German International School Doha, has celebrated the official inauguration of its well-equipped and spacious school, donated by the Qatari government.
The five-year old school was previously housed in a villa that could not accommodate the fast-growing number of pupils
joining DISD.
The evening included a musical performance by the Doha Baroque Ensemble and song and dance presentations from the primary schoolchildren.
Grade four students made welcoming remarks in German, Arabic and English. German ambassador Frau Angelika Storz-Chakarji gave a speech in Arabic.
Nikolaus Kircher, the DISD headmaster; Oliver Moritz, the chairman of the board; and Fawziya Abdalaziz al-Khater, the director of Private Schools Office at the Supreme Education Council, also spoke.
