The Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohols Affairs (PCDAA), under the Ministry of Interior (MoI), has signed a memorandum of understating (MoU) with Aspire Zone Foundation to raise awareness about the risks posed by drugs.
Staff Maj. General Saad bin Jassim al-Khulaifi, director general of Public Security and chairman of PCDAA, and Hilal Jahham al-Kuwari, chairman of Aspire Zone Foundation, signed the MoU.
Major General al-Khulaifi said the MoU has been signed as part of a strategic plan to raise awareness about perils of drugs and also enhance co-operation between agencies
concerned.
“The PCDAA always attempts to enhance and develop co-operation, co-ordination and partnership with official and local agencies for unifying the efforts against drugs,” said Major General al-Khulaifi.
Hilal al-Kuwari described the MoU as a “roadmap” between the Ministry of Interior and Aspire Zone.
“We extend our support to the PCDAA which plays a prominent role in the protection of the human capital of the country as a part of our belief in protecting the people of our society from drugs and its social, psychological and health consequences,” added the Aspire Zone chairman.
Director of Medical Services Department and member of PCDAA Brigadier Mohamed Sultan al-Khulaifi, director of Drugs Enforcement Administration Brigadier Ibrahim Eisa al-Buainain, director of Legal Affairs Department Brigadier Hamad Ahmed al-Mohanndii, secretary of the PCDAA Majaor Ibrahim Mohamed al Sumaih and a number of officers from the ministry attended the
signing ceremony.
