Indian food festival

Grand Regal Hotel is set to host an Indian Food Festival at its signature restaurant, Mehfil, starting tomorrow. The event will continue until April 27.

Indian ambassador to Qatar Sanjiv Arora will inaugurate the event at 7pm today.

The festival will feature 15 varieties of biryani in unlimited quantity on a buffet spread, including Dum Pukht biryani (mutton), Hyderabadi biryani, Gulnar Dum biryani (fish), Kaju biryani and Vegetable biryani, to name a few.

Guests visiting the festival - which will start at 7pm on all three days - will also be able to experience traditional Indian desserts.

The Mehfil restaurant is set to recreate the magic of Indian culture, complete with the rich aroma of biryani, Asian sweets, a warm atmosphere, live ghazals and Bollywood songs.

“An important objective of this event is to showcase the rich culinary heritage of India, generate better awareness of traditional Indian food and encourage local residents and guests to try it out,” said Imran Baig, general manager of Grand Regal Hotel.

The traditional dishes will be prepared by Grand Regal Hotel’s executive chef, Rajeev Sharma, an expert in Indian cuisine.

Indian embassy  Open House

The Indian embassy will hold its next Open House for its nationals on Friday, 26 April,  to discuss any urgent issues related to the community in Qatar. The Open House will be held from 5:30 to 6:30pm. Precise information on issues or cases to be discussed with the embassy can be given in writing from 5:30 to 6pm. This will be followed by an interaction with the officers of the embassy from 6pm to 6:30pm.
