The objective of the event is to develop leadership skills among the youth.
The Youth Company has announced the third bi-annual conference, Youth Change Everything, to be held at Coral Hotel Doha on April 26 and 27 under the theme “Creating the Future”.
The objective of the event is to develop leadership skills among the youth, facilitating personal growth through practical experiences, and motivating them to have a positive impact on society.
More than 100 high school and university students will gather to deliberate on different aspects of leadership and acquire the skills required for successful management in a diversified and fast-changing work environment.
The workshops will be conducted by professionals such as Erica C Chiusano, cultural attaché at the US embassy in Doha; Carolin Zeitler, founder and director of Arcata and initiator of the How Women Work conference; Johanna Bradley, career centre manager at BNP Paribas; Abraham Kamarck, founder of Doha Delivery; and, Faissal Alhaithami, social media specialist at Katara and founder of Fansbridge.com.
On the first day, the workshops aim to help participants learn the value of goal-setting and the process of building and managing teams, as well as the art of creative thinking, conflict management and emotional intelligence.
The day will finish with the “Open Space”, a self-organising conference track that promotes discussion among the members and lays emphasis on spontaneity.
The second day will feature a challenge where delegates have to design a product or project that can solve sustainability issues – pitched on the first day – and expand it into a business proposal.
Experienced mentors will guide the working teams through the methodology of Business Model Generation – Canvas.
The top 10 ideas will be selected and judged by experts in the business world.
“We received an overwhelming response to the last two events. The positive energy of the youth has inspired us to host the third edition of Youth Change Everything,” said Aya Abu Issa, acting chief executive of The Youth Company.
