As part of the MoU, Vodafone Foundation’s Instant Network - a mobile network that packs into three suitcases - will be deployed in refugee camps around the world by a team of 70 Vodafone volunteer engineers. The agreement, signed by Qatar Foundation Endowment executive committee member and special envoy to EAC Dr Tidu Maini and Vodafone Group external affairs director and trustee of the Vodafone Foundation Matthew Kirk, and witnessed by Vodafone Qatar’s CEO Richard Daly and external affairs director Mohamed al-Yami, would also include access to mobile education resources such as mobile literacy programmes.
