At least five of the nine participants of the “Kantahan sa Doha” (singing competition) qualified for the semi-finals. Officials of 2013 Philippine Independence Day Organising Committee (Pinoc) graced the event held on May 3 at the Philippine School of Doha (PSD) and the second elimination is scheduled on May 10 at the same venue. The first five semifinalists included: Jarlene Queen Villanueva, Kristine Mendoza, Romel Navarra, Danilo Cabaltica and Danilo Tagaylo II. Organising committee head Alan Bulan said the judges had a hard time determining the winners since all the nine participants were talented and good singers. PICTURE: Alvin Bongon
