The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has won the Innovative Design Award for its Facebook pages in Arabic and other languages, given by the Internet Prizes Academy for the Arab Region. |
Public Relations department director Col Abdulla Khalifa al-Muftah and Security Media head Capt Mubrak Salem al-Buainain received the award at a function held in Dubai recently.
The award marks yet another achievement for the ministry, which uses the social media extensively to communicate with the public. The number of ‘likes’ for the Facebook pages of the MoI in Arabic and other languages has crossed 20,000.
The MoI Facebook pages have been designed in such a manner that visitors can easily access information about the ministry.
Besides Arabic, the languages in which the MoI communicates with the public are English, Urdu, Hindi and Nepali.
Besides Facebook, the MoI interacts with the people through Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
