PM appoints director of duty office
HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani yesterday issued decision No 21 of 2013 appointing Ambassador Youssuf bin Abdulrahman Jassim al-Muftah as director of the Duty Office at the foreign ministry.
The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister also issued decision No 22 for 2013 appointing Ambassador Abdullah bin Ibrahim al-Haj Abdullah as director for the information office at the foreign ministry.
Indian schools record impressive results in class X examination
Indian schools in Qatar have achieved 100% result in the CBSE class X continuous and comprehensive evaluation for the session 2012-13. The results of the evaluation were announced yesterday.
The schools had offered both school based and board based examinations for the students. Both the examinations were conducted in two parts as Summative Assessment 1 (SA-1) and Summative Assessment 2 (SA-2) at the end of each of the two semesters during the academic year.
The syllabus and question papers were set by the CBSE Board.
MES Indian School, the largest Indian school in Qatar registered 100% pass with all the 603 students qualifying for higher education.
Altogether 398 students appeared for the school based examination and 205 students for the board based. Out of them, 92 students secured A1, Cumulative Grade Points (CGPA 10), the highest grade in the examination in all the subjects.
As many as 167 students obtained A1 in English, 158 in Malayalam, 35 in Arabic & Islamic Studies, 9 in French, 34 in Hindi, 17 in Urdu, 126 in Mathematics, 169 in Science, 132 in Social Science and 11 in Tamil.
Ideal Indian School recorded 100% success in the examination with all the 301 who appeared for the examination qualifying for higher education.
A total of 31 students got the grade point 10 with A1 in all five subjects.
Birla Public School had 170 students for the examination and all them qualified for higher education.
Among them 53 students scored A1 grade in all the subjects, with a CGPA of 10. A total of 48 students got the grade between 9 and 10.
DPS MIS recorded 100% pass with 56 out of 200 students getting A1 in all subjects. Another 123 students scored 90% and above CGPA.
Doha Modern Indian School also recorded 100% result with 6 students out of the total 25 securing CGPA 10 and A1 in all the subjects.16 students have secured a CGPA of 9 and above. From Shantiniketan Indian school, 92 students took the examination and 12 out of them secured A1 grade in all subjects with CGPA 10. Another 25 students obtained CGPA between 9 and 9.9.
