Batting first Hanan were all out for 98 runs in 11.2 overs. Parvez, who scored a quick fire 31 runs of 11 balls with four sixes, was the top scorer of his team. Aswar also chipped in with 14 runs. Melroy took three wickets, while Shailesh claimed two wickets, each. Amol, Suraj, Nithin, Akhil and Feroz also took a wicket each.
In reply M. Pallonji achieved the target in 10.1 overs. Shailesh remained unbeaten on 20 runs. Openers Amol and Feroz retired hurt after scoring 15 runs each. Suraj scored 10 runs, while Akhil scored nine runs. Feroz of M. Pallonji was declared man of the final. Parvez of Hanan declared best batsman and Taraka of QALCO adjudged best bowler of the tournament. Aswar of Hanan declared best all-rounder and Raviraj of Pallonji got best wicket-keeper trophy.
Gulf Incon-Metabo also had organised a cricket quiz during the course of the tournament.
A two minutes silence was also observed on the occasion to mourn the sudden demise of Ganesh Srinivasan, General Manager of Gulf Incon, a ardent sports supporter. Srinivasan, died on September 7, 2013.
Qatar Veterans’ Cricket League and Gulf Incon have also decided to will organsie an annual floodlit cricket tournament from next year in memory of Srinivasan.
