Doha Bank training academy inaugurated

Doha Bank has announced the official opening of its dedicated training academy.
The opening of the Doha Bank Training Academy will boost the efforts of the bank’s human resources department in delivering an advanced level of professional training and banking skills to help each employee fulfil his/her potential, the bank has said in a
statement.
Doha Bank vice-chairman Ahmed Abdul Rahman Yousuf Obaidan Fakhroo presided over the inauguration on Sunday. Also in attendance was the Doha Bank Group CEO, R Seetharaman, accompanied by several senior bank
officials.
“With the growing footprint of Doha Bank in Qatar and internationally, it is imperative that such a dedicated facility is available to meet the knowledge, skills and training needs of the bank’s staff at all levels. On behalf of the board of directors, I congratulate the executive management and the human resources department on the successful completion of the academy,” said the vice-chairman.
“Knowledge and skills assimilation is a very important aspect of ensuring the continuing competitiveness of any financial institution. With the continuing growth of the bank, which currently has more than 1,200 employees, the training academy plays a very central and crucial role. It is dedicated to the staff and aims to help them stay abreast of the latest banking innovations as well as the essential skills that will help them grow and contribute within Doha Bank’s overall framework,” said the Group CEO.
The academy is situated on Grand Hamad Street, providing the staff of every Doha Bank branch with a central location for their developmental needs. It is particularly useful for new recruits, serving as a one-stop destination for all their training and knowledge requirements, the statement adds.
In addition to an auditorium for seminars and dedicated training rooms, the facility has replica teller and branch training facilities as well as a full library of essential reading material to help employees at all levels catch up with their knowledge of essential trends in the industry.
“All Doha Bank Staff are required to complete a number of key courses and training programmes at various stages of their careers, including refresher courses and advanced skills, based on their specific areas of expertise. With the establishment of the training academy, we are able to bring everyone under one roof to deliver greater efficiency and allow the bank’s instructors the convenience of working with a wide range of tools and reference materials,” said Abdul Rahman Ali A al-Mohamed, Doha Bank’s head of human resources.
