HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah yesterday launched the new website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dr Saif al-Kuwari, the acting director of the Data System Department, said the launching of the website reflects the ministry’s keenness to reactivate the participation and communication with the citizens to keep pace with the evolution of the communication technology.
The new state-of-the-art website has been redesigned using the most advanced information and programming technology, al-Kuwari said noting that it would shed light on the ministry’s activities and its political and diplomatic sectors and contribute to outlining Qatar’s foreign policy and enhancing its link with the other countries.
Al-Kuwari said the new website will also give prominence to bilateral relations between Qatar and the other countries and the reciprocal visits of the senior officials in addition to agreements between Qatar and other countries.
Out of its keenness to diversify the social communication channels with the public, the foreign ministry would launch its official Twitter service on its website that would contribute to enhancing the interaction between the ministry and its followers. The Twitter service will include the foreign ministry’s news and press releases as well as the statements of HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The service will also provide information about the foreign ministry’s views, its strategy, priorities and Qatar’s foreign policy.
It will also shed light on Qatar’s relations with other countries. The service will also answer queries of the followers.
