Istanbul’s iconic Esma Sultan Mansion, which is situated on the banks of Bosphorus Strait, was the venue of a high-profile celebration held recently as part of Commercial Bank acquiring a majority stake in Turkey’s Alternatifbank (ABank).
Invited guests included many dignitaries from Qatar and Turkey including Qatar’s Ambassador to Turkey, HE Salem Mubarak al-Shafi; Commercial Bank Group chairman HE Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Attiyah; managing director Hussein Alfardan; director Omar Alfardan, Group CEO Andrew C Stevens, ABank Chairman Tuncay Ozilhan and CEO Hamit Aydogan.
Entertainment by Turkish performers was a highlight of the celebrations.
Fireworks from a yacht moored in the Bosphorus Strait- one of the busiest waterways between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea, added glitter to the event.
Welcoming guests al-Attiyah said, “For us, tonight is a milestone event. What brings us all together is the start of a new and exciting partnership between Commercial Bank of Qatar and Alternatifbank. It brings together ABank and our existing Alliance banks in Qatar, Oman and the UAE.”
