Workshop for teachers
World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) will hold a workshop this weekend for teachers from Qatar to familiarise them with the best practices in education from around the globe.
Stavros Yiannouka, CEO, WISE, said that the WISE pre-workshop was a pilot programme. “We expect around 80 teachers from the local schools in Qatar to participate in the workshop. This is a small contribution from WISE to the education sector here in Qatar. Over the coming years, we will be able to expand the programme to provide more tangible and immediate contribution to the education sector in Qatar.”
Yiannouka also said that during the summit WISE Prize laureate for this year will be announced. The six WISE Awards winners will be honoured at a gala dinner.
This year, a new group of 33 outstanding young people from over 20 countries have been selected for the WISE Learners’ Voice Programme (LVP). They will take part in the WISE summit and will be involved in activities during the remainder of 2013 and throughout 2014.
They will gather for the first time at the pre-summit seminar on October 27-28 in Doha to take part in a series of team-building activities and prepare for their roles at WISE 2013.
