More than 1,200 students from different schools across the country have taken part in the Emiri Guard activities during 2013, local daily Arrayah has reported.
The guard activities, held under the direction of Emiri Guard commander Maj Gen Hazaa bin Khalil al-Shahwani, receive students annually to inform them about the nature of work of the Emiri Guard, the skills of his men and the extent of their dedication in order to accustom the students to their commitment, love and loyalty to the motherland.
During last year, some of the squads visit schools to perform shows such as the musical performances which disclosed the high readiness of the Emiri Guard and the high skill and abilities of its men.
Before the National Day on December 18, the guard selected some 300 students from different schools as well as students who are sons of army officers and trained them to participate alongside Emiri Guard in the national parade.
