The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced a month-long partial closure of the Jaidah Flyover, located in the Msheireb area, from tomorrow.
The closure will be implemented in two phases in order to complete the upgrade and maintenance works on the flyover.
The first phase will include the closure of only the east-bound lane of the flyover going towards Msheireb area for two weeks from tomorrow.
Traffic coming from Jaber bin Ahmed Intersection (Radisson Blu Signal) and Salwa Road will use the ground level through Msheireb Interchange located below the flyover.
As part of the second phase, the east-bound lane going towards the Msheireb area will be open and the west-bound lane of the Jaidah Flyover going towards Jaber bin Ahmed Intersection and the Industrial Area will be closed for two weeks from February 15.
Traffic heading to Salwa Road and the Industrial Area will be diverted to the ground level through Msheireb Interchange below the flyover.
The scope of maintenance works will include replacing the asphalt layer over the flyover as well as improving the structure to accommodate the increased demand of travellers in the area.
All necessary road signs have been installed in the area to provide clear directions for motorists.
