Racing-Metro winger Marc Andreu yesterday was called into the 30-strong French squad for the Six Nations game against Scotland in Edinburgh on March 8.
He replaces scrum-half Morgan Parra of Clermont, who on Thursday was handed a two-week suspension for headbutting Montpellier’s Rene Ranger during a Top 14 clash on February 22.
The 28-year-old Andreu has won seven caps for his country, the last coming against New Zealand in June, 2013.
He was in the French training squads for the first three rounds of Six Nations games, but has yet to figure on any of the match-day teamlists.
Parra who has missed France’s opening three Six Nations ties, will now be available for selection by France coach Philippe Saint-Andre for the key match against Ireland on March 15 at Stade de France.
The French won their two opening Six Nations games against Italy 30-10 and England 26-24, but the crushing 27-6 loss to Wales in Cardiff wrecked hopes of a first Grand Slam since 2010.
