Qatar’s largest ICT event, Qitcom, will be sponsored by leading technology organisations and government departments, further cementing its position as the region’s pre-eminent platform for all aspects of ICT development and innovation in Qatar, the region and internationally. |
Vodafone Qatar, part of the global mobile communications network, is confirmed as the event’s pearl sponsor, while Qatar Satellite Co Es’hailSat will sponsor Qitcom 2014 at the platinum level. The confirmed silver sponsors include Technoserve and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) will be honorary sponsor of the event.
The three-day event, organised by fischerAppelt qatar in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ictQATAR), will be held from May 26 to 28 at Qatar National Convention Centre. It will feature a conference, an exhibition and a regional awards programme showcasing the growth and aspirations of Qatar’s ICT sector and how global technological advances can support the country’s economic diversification in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
At Qitcom 2014, Vodafone Qatar, which is committed to providing world-class telecommunications infrastructure to support Qatar National Vision 2030, will display its latest technological developments in the largest gathering of technology companies under one roof and give visitors the opportunity to experience its latest developments, as well as review new promotions.
Qitcom 2014 will provide Es’hailSat with a platform to showcase new developments and forthcoming satellites, which will assist Qatar with its ICT expansion to meet the needs of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, as well as increasing the capacity of multimedia communications as required by telecommunications companies and broadcasters. Over the next decade, Es’hailSat aims to have a global fleet or six or more independent satellites, controlled and managed from Qatar.
Silver sponsor Technoserve ensures integrated systems for high-end products, particularly interactive TV and digital signboards for hotels, hospitals and residential compounds.
The MoI’s sponsorship of Qitcom 2014 comes within a framework of co-operation and co-ordination with ictQATAR to highlight the numerous successful e-services and devices it has recently launched for improved customer use and flexibility and to facilitate greater public interaction with the ministry.
Rinal Chaaban, Qitcom project lead, fischerAppelt qatar, said: “We are grateful to our sponsors for their continued support and look forward to developing more strategic partnerships, which will further strengthen Qitcom’s position as one of the region’s leading ICT events.”
