Satellite firm taking part in exhibition

Es’hailSat, the Qatar Satellite Company, is exhibiting at the annual CABSAT exhibition in Dubai, which attracts key players from the fast-growing broadcast, digital media and satellite sectors.
The company introduced at the event, Es’hail 1, Qatar’s first satellite, which commenced operations on December 18, 2013. The satellite is already providing high quality, premium DTH television content from the 25.5 / 26 degrees East neighbourhood.
Es’hailSat was established in 2010 and brings a new dimension to Qatar’s diversifying economy with the creation of a world-class satellite operator and centre of excellence in the region.
The company’s satellite fleet will enable customers to substantially increase their broadcasting capability in HD and 3D and supports Qatar National Vision 2030 and commitment to meet the sophisticated communications infrastructure the country is putting in place to host the FIFA 2022 World Cup.
Es’hailSat, through its existing and planned satellites, will broadcast diversified and high quality premium content with anti-jamming capabilities across the MENA region.  Al Jazeera and beIN Sport are already using Es’hail 1 capacity for high definition broadcasting of their premium channels.
Paris St-Germain’s winter game vs. Real Madrid marked the start of operations of Es’hail 1, with the satellite broadcasting the football game live in HD from Doha across the Middle East and North Africa.  Es’hail 1 also provided the broadcast coverage of the recent Qatar Exxon Mobil Open Tennis tournament for the MENA region.
With the success of Es’hail 1, the company is already pushing ahead with plans to expand its satellite fleet.  Es’hail 2 is currently in development and is expected to be launched at the end of 2016.  And discussions are ongoing with customers and stakeholders to define the requirements for a further satellite - Es’hail 3.
Ali al-Kuwari, CEO of Es’hailSat, commented: “With our first satellite Es’hail 1 currently broadcasting premium content for the MENA region and with future satellites planned, CABSAT will help us to achieve our goal to become a world-class satellite operator and centre of excellence in the region. We see this exhibition as a key element in our strategy to attract customers who value broadcasting independence, quality of service and our market penetration.”
