The engineering department of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has celebrated the graduation of 82 of its employees who attended a specialised training course.
The course dealt with new methods in electricity works, ventilation and air-conditioner maintenance as well as the mechanics of lifts.
Robert Smith, director of the department, stressed the importance of the training course in enhancing the qualifications and skills of the staff and technicians working in such fields.
He said that it would help introduce them to innovations and new trends in their professional field, reflecting positively on the daily performance of their duties.
He said that similar training courses have been conducted in the last 18 months, where more than 600 HMC employees have been given professional training.
Abullah Khalaf al-Kubaisi, director of training and development in the department, said the trainees have got internationally accredited certificates upon successful completion of the course conducted by a specialised team of experts.
CCQ in MoU for health information management course
Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) and Community College of Qatar (CCQ) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) designed to prepare the next generation to become professionals in the field of Health Information Management. The MoU was signed by PHCC General Manager Dr Maryam Abdulmalik and the President of CCQ Prof Ibrahim Saleh al-Nuaimi. The MoU aims to improve healthcare for the people of the State of Qatar, through exchange of expertise and resources to develop and support the Associate Diploma programme in Applied Science in Health Information Management. It allows students of the Health Information Management programme to perform the requirements of their practical training in locations specified by the PHCC under a supervisor commissioned by CCQ.

Indian expatriate found dead
The body of a 24-year-old Indian expatriate was found hanging at a commercial complex, near Ramada Signal, on the Salwa road early Friday. |
The deceased, identified as Sarat Sivanandan, was employed as a guard at a firm providing security services to offices, sources close to the victim told this newspaper.
Sivanandan, a bachelor, had been in the country for about three-and-a-half years, they said. He hailed from Kayamkulam in Kerala’s Alappuzha district.
The incident reportedly took place after midnight. The body has been moved to a mortuary and investigation is on.
