HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani participated in the 15th consultative meeting of Ministers of Interior of Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) which was held here earlier yesterday.
Addressing the meeting, Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Mohamed al-Khaled al-Hamad al-Sabah, stressed that provision of security for citizens and maintaining the stability of the countries is a responsibility of the security men, saying such meetings are a good opportunity to discuss various security issues of common interest.
Secretary General of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani, praised co-operation among the GCC ministries of interior and efforts being made by them to enhance security and stability in the GCC countries and protect Gulf communities.
Dr Abdullatif al-Zayani said the current meeting takes place at a critical juncture, a matter which requires unity of vision and goals to preserve the gains, and to fulfil the aspirations of the people of the GCC countries.
Later, the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah met HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and heads of GCC delegates attending the 15th Consultative Meeting of the GCC Interior Ministers at Al Bayan palace here yesterday.
Earlier upon arrival yesterday at Kuwait International Airport the Prime Minister was welcomed by Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohamed al-Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah, the GCC Secretary General Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid al-Zayani and Qatar’s Ambassador to Kuwait Hamad bin Ali al-Henzab.
