Emir holds talks with Abbas

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Emiri Diwan yesterday. President Abbas briefed the Emir on the unity deal which was signed in Gaza recently. The two leaders also discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian issue.

 

Message from Russian president

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday received a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin, relating to relations between Qatar and Russia and the means of enhancing them.  Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdano, who is also the Special Envoy of the Russian President for the Middle East, delivered the message during a meeting yesterday with the Emir at the Emiri Diwan.

 

Bilateral ties reviewed

HE the Minister of Transport Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti  holding talks with the visiting Tunisian Minister of
Employment and Vocational Training Hafez Amory in Doha yesterday. They reviewed bilateral relations in addition to matters of mutual interest.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani holding talks with the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training of Tunisia Hafez Amory in Doha yesterday. They reviewed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in addition to matters of mutual interest.

 

Qatar-Russia ties discussed

HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani holding talks with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov in Doha yesterday. They discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.

 

Tunisian minister calls on al-Sulaiti

Tunisia’s Minister of Employment and Vocational Training Hafez Amory called on the Minister of Transport HE Jassim bin Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti at his office yesterday. Al-Sulaiti and the visiting
minister discussed a range of issues, aiming to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

 

Qatar-US defence ties discussed

HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Major General Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah yesterday met General Lewid Austin III, the Commander of the US Central Army Command.

Talks during the meeting dealt with matters of joint interest.

HE Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Air Vice-Marshal Ghanim bin Shaheen al-Ghanim attended the meeting along with the US Charge d’Affaires in Doha G Adam Eberle and a number of senior army officers.

 

Army chief meets German official

HE the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Air Vice-Marshal Ghanim bin Shaheen al-Ghanim met Germany’s non-resident military attache Lt Col Hans Juergen in Doha yesterday. Talks during the meeting dealt with issues of mutual concern.

A number of senior army officers attended the meeting.

 

Minister meets Singapore envoy

HE the Minister of Justice Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr al-Mohannadi yesterday held talks with Singaporean Ambassador to Qatar Wong Kwok Pun.

They discussed bilateral relations and means of bolstering them in all areas with a special emphasis on the legal and legislative fields.

Other issues of mutual concern were also taken up.

 

Russian deputy FM holds talks

HE the Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi conferred with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov who is also the Special Envoy of the Russian President for the Middle East in Doha yesterday.

They held discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them. Other issues of mutual concern were also taken up.

 

Advisory Council holds meeting

The Advisory Council yesterday held its regular weekly meeting under the chairmanship of its Speaker HE Mohammed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi. 

The Advisory Council discussed a report of the Legal and Legislative Affairs committee on decree law No 14 of 2013 to abolish the law of public bodies and institutions promulgated by Law No 26 for 2004 and decided to refer its recommendations to the cabinet.

 

NDS Steering Committee meets

The Steering Committee for the National Development Strategy (2011-2016) Mid-Term Review (NDS-MTR) held its second meeting under the chairmanship of HE Dr Saleh Mohamed Salem al-Nabit, the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics. The meeting was attended by HE Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali, the Minister of Administrative Development. The committee discussed the progress achieved in the preparation of the NDS-MTR.
