Barzan Stable is set to add a new stallion to its breeding operations when Dahash, a son of Amer joins the farm and starts covering in 2014 season. For the stud farm which had been operating on a modest scale, this is an attempt to step up the accelerator. The seven year old grey Dahash was till recently in racing in Qatar after his European campaign.
The beautifully conformed son of Amer should have a bearing on the prospects of the stud farm. The enthusiastic Mohammed al-Sulaiti, who owns Barzan Stable feels that having Dahash as a stallion is a step in this direction. Dahash will definitely add value to Barzan Stable,” al-Sulaiti said.
Bred by Qatar’s leading sire, Amer Dahash ranked 19th world wide had 38 starts in his career with 12 wins with 7 Cups to his credit and earned a rating of 120. Trained by its owner and breeder, the last win of Dahash came under Adrie de Vries at Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club on January 8, 2014 in the Al Mafiar Cup.
“Dahash was a champion horse in Qatar during 2011-12 with a rating of 117 and has proved to be formidable as a local bred while competing and winning carrying heaviest weight in the open class for Pure Arabian.
In the year 2011/12, Dahash has broken track records on dirt and turf in short, medium and long distance races for Pure and local Arabians.
