RasGas ‘leaders’ undergo training

The first team of 120 RasGas leaders recently completed a high-level international leadership and management skills training programme conducted by Thunderbird School of Global Management. The team included supervisors, section heads, and managers from different departments of RasGas.

“As a company committed to continuous improvement and with ‘people’ as a strategic choice, we recognise that we must continue to develop and strengthen the full capabilities of our people,” said RasGas chief executive officer Hamad Rashid al-Mohannadi, who attended the graduation ceremony.

Al-Mohannadi also noted that the company has a diverse workforce with employees from more than 60 countries.

With the skills and management techniques gained during this programme, al-Mohannadi said he is confident that the company will continue to excel in managing a multi-cultural workforce with its officers leading by example.

Chief employee development and welfare officer Erhama al-Kaabi emphasised that RasGas is committed to provide its leaders with tools needed to leverage their full potential and foster a “high-performing culture.”

Al-Kaabi said RasGas and Thunderbird developed programmes for four levels of leaders at RasGas, creating a common language of leadership to develop all its employees and enable them to fulfill their capabilities.

Thunderbird general manager (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) Sarah Schwab said the RasGas Executive Leadership Team’s sponsorship of the event sends a strong signal of how RasGas takes leadership development seriously.
