E the Minister of Finance Ali Sherif al-Emadi is expected to deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of Qatar’s ICT Conference and Exhibition (Qitcom 2014).
The event will be organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology in collaboration with fischerApplet, at the Qatar National Convention Center between May 26 and May 28, 2014.
Organised under the name of “Innovating Today for the Future of Qatar”, Qitcom 2014 Conference will be hosting iconic local, regional and global experts to share thoughts on key ICT topics during its three days.
Day one focuses on “Building a Networked Society: Social Media for Social Impact” where Kevin Eyres, former Managing Director at LinkedIn, will highlight the growing importance and use of social media in Qatar and the region and its significant impact on the community as a whole.
Focusing on “The Cornerstone of Innovation in Broadband & Broadcast: Satellite and its Impact on Society”, day two will host Karim Sabbagh, CEO at SES, as a keynote speaker with speakers from Es’hailSat, Ooredoo, Qatar Rail, SAP, EMC2 and Autodesk to address Qatar’s technological advancements in satellite, broadband and broadcast and their reflections on the media landscape, in terms of access and content. “Fostering Innovation and a Culture of Entrepreneurship” is the catchphrase of day three. The keynote will be delivered by Jim McKelvey, Co-Founder of Square.
Noteworthy, the “Innovation Theater”, a community focused installation that provides entrepreneurs and SME owners with a platform to display their ideas.
