Interior Ministry introduces new electronic services

The Ministry of Interior’s Information System Department (MoI-ISD) has introduced several new electronic services during the 3rd edition of the Qatar ICT Conference and Exhibition (Qitcom) 2014 yesterday at Qatar National Convention Centre.

The event was inaugurated by HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, Prime Minister and Interior Minister, who also visited MoI’s pavilion after the opening ceremony.

In a press statement, ISD director Saleh Khamis al-Kobaisi said these new services can be accessed through its website and on Metrash2.

He noted that customers can now access a number of e-services on MoI websites where they can use their smart cards to pay visa application, family visa extension, issue return visa, fine payments, renewal of visa approval, changing nationality of domestic workers, instant approval for servants and domestic workers and among others.

Company owners or authorised persons can also make several transactions on the websites.

The director said residence, traffic and civil defence services will be added soon.

Al-Kobaisi also pointed out that 30 new services have been added to Metrash2 besides the existing services. Sponsors can register absconding complaints against their employees.

If found absconded, people are advised to contact the Search and Follow Up Department for further procedures. Registered users can avail of required certificates, visas and other official papers through Metrash2.
