The Public Works Authority Ashghal has announced a new diversion on Mesaimeer Road from Al Jazeera Academy and to the Wholesale Market Street interchange.
The diversions will start on June 7 and last until the end of this year. During this period, the existing two lanes from Al Jazeera Academy and to the Wholesale Market Street interchange will be closed, and a new U-Turn will be introduced 320m ahead of the Wholesale Market Street interchange.
Motorists coming from the Wholesale Market Street and heading to Mesaimeer Road can take a right at Waab Umm Heesh Street and then left at Al Erbayyat Street in order to reach Mesaimeer Road.
Motorists coming from Mesaimeer Road and heading to the Wholesale Market Street can take a right at Bu Hamoor Street and then left at Wadi Al Ghadeeriyat Street to reach the Wholesale Market Street.
The road diversion is to facilitate the construction of Al Jazeera Flyover along with all the necessary utilities.
Ashghal will install road signs to advise motorists of the diversion. The Authority has also requested all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
