Interior Ministry contest winners honoured


Under the auspices of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Police Training Institute organised a ceremony to honour the winners and participants of the third annual research competition 2013.
The competition was conducted by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) under the theme “Abnormal behaviours of students and the role of the security system in treating them”.
The ceremony held at the Civil Defence Officers’ Club was attended by the legal adviser to HE the Minister of Interior, Maj Gen Dr Abdullah Yusuf al-Mal; director-general of the Police College, Brig Dr Mohamed Abdullah al-Mohanna; and commander of Ahmad bin Mohamed Military College, Staff Brig Hamad Ahmad al-Noaimi, along with the directors of MoI departments.
Professor Khalid Mohamed Abdul Haleem said the research studies are much required now as the world becomes more competitive for achieving higher levels in education.
Maj Gen al-Mal honoured the jury members, among whom were Maj Nasser Musfir al-Qahtani from the Public Guards Department, Capt Buna Ali al-Khulaifi from Juvenile Police, Dr Basher Saad Zaghloul, professor of law at Qatar University (QU), and Dr Asma al-Mohannadi from the Supreme Education Council.
The winners among Qataris were Dr Ibrahim Mohamed Abdullah al-Kaabi (QU), researcher Khalid Saud al-Dousri (Qatar Foundation), Dr Ayman Ahmad Hafiz and researcher Rafid Saeed Abdul Razzaq (Ahmad bin Mohamed Military College), who came first; Dr Ali Mohna al-Zabit al-Dousari and researcher Maryam Ahmad al-Zabit al-Dousri, who won the second place; and researcher Ashwaq Saleh Ali Saleh al-Jormouzi (Strategic Planning Department) and researcher Nawal Khalid Ewad Omar (Communications Department), who came third.
Among residents, researcher Khalid Mohamed Abdul Haleem (Public Relations Department, MoI) won the first place while Dr Mohamed Mahmud al-Sayed Mursi (Police Training Institute) came second and researcher Mahmud Abdul Jawad Mohamed (Abdullah Al Misnad Independent School) won the third place.
The youngest participant, Nasser Sultan al-Kowari (Ali bin Mohamed al-Thani Secondary School) was also honoured at the event. Besides the schools, the Family Counselling Centre and all other participants were also given certificates.
Lt Nasser Mubarak al-Maliki, who participated in making the largest flag that entered the Guinness World Records, was also honoured.
The topic for the next research competition was declared as “The role of social establishments in rumour prevention”.
