The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced new traffic diversions on the streets leading to Dahl Al Hamam roundabout.

During the diversion period, only two lanes will be open for traffic on all streets leading to Dahl Al Hamam roundabout, the middle and right lanes. Ashghal also constructed a new temporary outer roundabout to ensure the safety of road users around the road works.

The new traffic diversions on the streets leading to Dahl Al Hamam roundabout will be implemented consequently starting from today by diverting traffic on Street 245 known as Arab League Street.

The traffic diversion on Al Markhiya Street, starting from Lejbailat Intersection and to Dahl Al Hamam roundabout, will start tonight.

The traffic diversion on Al Markhiya Street starting from Dahl Al Hamam roundabout and to Landmark Mall will start tomorrow night.

All the traffic diversions and the new temporary outer roundabout will be open for traffic after Thursday, and will last for a month and a half.

The road diversions are to facilitate works on converting Dahl Al Hamam roundabout to a signal-controlled intersection, and provide four lanes in each direction on Al Markhiya Street and three lanes in each direction on Street 245, also known as Arab League Street.

The development works will further enhance traffic flow by providing three additional lanes turning left and a dedicated side lane to turn right at each signal in each direction. Pedestrian crossings will also be built to ensure safety of road users.
