Jassim al-Jabir, director of the mechanical equipment department in the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, has said the committee for the removal of abandoned vehicles will continue to carry out its tasks in Doha, Al Rayyan and Umm Salal Municipalities and remove abandoned vehicles, machines and equipment after completion of its work in Al Wakrah Municipality, according to the report.
Further, al-Jabir said the committee has completed the removal of more than 12,000 vehicles from the Industrial Area, Al Zayin, Al Khor and Al Shamal, the report adds. Abandoned vehicles and other property are taken to the scrap yard in Al Mashaf.
According to al-Jabir, if the owner wants to take back any such properties, s/he is required to visit the seizure yard to check if his/her vehicle or other property is there. If found, the owner has to visit the municipality concerned and pay the cleaning and transportation fees before the vehicle or other property is returned, the report further states.
