Mowasalat ties up with Ooredoo for Karwa Smartcard top-up

Ooredoo and Mowasalat yesterday announced a new partnership agreement which will enable all Karwa Smartcard users to top up their cards via Ooredoo’s Self Service Machines (SSM).

The agreement, which will give Karwa users a more effective and accessible way to pay for their travel costs, is the latest service update in a series of SSM improvements, as Ooredoo offers more options for customers to keep up-to-date with their daily services.

Using Ooredoo’s Self-Service Machines, Karwa Smartcard customers can now top up their Smartcards in denominations from QR10 up to QR500 through SSM machines that are placed in strategic locations.

Brian Speldewinde, assistant director, Indirect Channels, Ooredoo, said: “Our new partnership with Mowasalat will help a large population of people on a day-to-day basis. Self Service Machines were launched to give our customers an easy and effective way to top-up, but as we’ve grown we’ve focused on introducing innovative and helpful services such as this for our customer’s convenience.”

Jassim al-Khayat, director Information Technology and Communications, Mowasalat, said: “Being able to top-up conveniently at Ooredoo SSMs across Qatar will enable people to travel more conveniently and encourage new users to try our safe, secure, effective and economic transportation services.”

With this new partnership with Ooredoo, Mowasalat customers will have the flexibility and convenience to access Ooredoo’s largest network of over 200 Self Service Machines for their Karwa top-ups at most of the 24 hours locations across the country which will provide great customer experience and satisfaction.

The new service agreement will allow customers to simply enter their Smartcard number and the desired amount at any of Ooredoo’s Self Service Machines to recharge their card.

In addition to recharging their Karwa Smartcards via the Ooredoo Self Services machines, customers can top-up Hala accounts, pay bills and purchase vouchers for an incredible range of shopping and dining experiences for popular brands in Qatar.

Present at the signing ceremony were Mowasalat officials Maen Ayoub (IT Applications manager), Tim Garcia (manager, Strategy & Business Development Department), and Ooredoo officials Jahan Khan (senior manager, Electronic Channels), Yousef Ali M Johar (senior analyst, marketing), Salem Mohamed al-Shahbal (specialist, SSM) and Ariel Cruz Ochoada (officer, business development, SSM).
