Emir and PM send cables of congratulations

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman on the anniversary of his accession to the throne.

HH the Emir and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister have also sent cables of congratulations to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on his country’s National Day.

 

Phone call from French FM

HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah yesterday received a telephone call from French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius. They discussed the latest developments in Gaza and efforts aimed at halting the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people.

 

 

Three Qatari women donate $150,000 to Eid Charity hospital

Three Qatari women have donated $150,000 (around QR547,000) for a hospital run by the medical board of Eid Charity on the Syria-Lebanon border, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.

The hospital treats and conducts surgeries on thousands of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

Eid Charity’s Ali al-Hajiri said the foundation has sponsored the hospital since its establishment in 2013. It operates all sections of the hospital with a monthly budget of $50,000, which is equal to around QR182,000, the report states.

He hailed the donations made by the three Qatari women, which would ensure the functioning of the hospital for three months, according to the report.

Further, al-Hajiri stressed the need for supporting the hospital for a year at $600,000, or around QR2,190,000.

He said 328,926 patients have benefited from the services provided by the hospital while 134,261 have benefited from the medicine supplies delivered by its pharmacy, the report adds.

 

RAF dispatches medical convoy for Gaza Strip

Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has sent a medical convoy to Gaza.

Dubbed “Convoy of the People of Qatar to Gaza”, the convoy contains medicine and medical supplies for operating rooms and intensive care units and intravenous fluids worth $100,000. 

Ibrahim Ali Abdullah, head of media and marketing at RAF Foundation, said that people of Gaza are in need of medical assistance which includes first aid more than their needs to food items in such difficult circumstances in Gaza Strip.

He appealed to Qatari citizens and residents to support RAF campaigns and continue to donate to help brethren Palestinians in Gaza Strip.
