Two Indian Commonwealth Games officials arrested in the host city Glasgow have been released and are free to go after their cases concluded, reports said Monday.
Rajeev Mehta, 49, secretary-general of the Indian Olympic Association, was arrested following an incident in Glasgow city centre, but prosecutors have decided not to proceed with the case against him, the BBC and Scotland's STV television reported.
Meanwhile wrestling referee Virender Malik, 45, was given either a fine or a warning after being detained following an unrelated alleged assault in the Scottish city, the broadcasters said.
STV quoted a spokesperson for the Crown Office state prosecution service as saying: "The procurator fiscal received a report concerning a 49-year-old man, in connection with an alleged incident in Glasgow on August 1.
"Following full and careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, and taking into account the available admissible evidence, Crown Counsel decided that there should be no proceedings at this time.
"The Crown reserves the right to raise proceedings in the future."
In relation to the 45-year-old man, a Crown Office spokesman said: "After a full and careful consideration of all facts and circumstances the case was dealt with by way of a direct measure and is now closed."
It is thought the "direct measure" is a fine or a warning.
Neither the Crown Office nor Police Scotland would comment when contacted by AFP.
The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games concluded on Sunday with a glitzy closing ceremony.
