Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has donated QR1mn to Qatar Charity (QC) in support of Gaza.
Ibrahim Jaham al-Kuwari, CEO of Woqod, handed over a cheque to Abdel Nasser al-Zahr al-Yafaey, executive director (Collection and Management) at QC, at the Woqod headquarters in the presence of Sheikha Sara Nasser al-Thani.
The donation came as part of Woqod’s corporate social responsibility.
“In view of the difficult humanitarian conditions experienced by the residents of Gaza because of the continued attacks on them, Woqod has allocated its support for the relief of our people in Gaza,” al-Kuwari said.
“We will continue our efforts in expanding our partnership with Qatar Charity and support its charitable projects.”
Al-Yafaey expressed his appreciation, saying: “We would like to thank Woqod for its generous donation. We hope that other companies follow the example of Woqod to finance more projects destined for the benefit of the Palestinian people so as to alleviate their suffering, especially in the areas of food, health and shelter.”
At the end of the meeting, al-Yafaey presented a symbolic memorial shield on behalf of QC to Woqod in recognition of the latter’s gesture.
This initiative is part of Woqod’s growing support for charitable and social-oriented programmes and a reflection of its corporate social responsibility strategy.
