HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al-Thani owned Djainka Des Forges recorded a comprehensive victory in the Group I Hatta International Stakes at Newbury racecourse in England on Sunday.
The Julian Smart-trained five-year old mare, sporting the colours of Al Shahania Stud was ridden to an impressive victory by the young and talented British jockey Harry Bentley.
Royal Cavalry of Oman’s Samima was second ahead of Athbah Stud’s Manade Athbah in the 1,400 metres contest.Djainka des Forges added this victory to her record of group race titles. She won the Group 1 Qatar Arabian Trophy at Saint-Cloud in 2012 and the Group 2 Qatar Derby in Doha in 2013.
She ran a fine second beaten ¾ L to Rabbah de Carrere in the Group 1 Dubai Kahayla Classic at Meydan in March and was fourth to Djet Taouy in the Group 1 Coupe d’Europe in June. She should now go for a big race during the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
