A performance by the Belgian Saxophone Ensemble delighted the audience at Katara Opera House on Friday. The event was organised by Katara in collaboration with the Belgian embassy in Qatar to mark the 200th birth anniversary of Antoine-Joseph “Adolphe” Sax, inventor of the saxophone. The performance was lauded by the audience, who were pleased to have experienced the musical night. Katara general manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti said, “Katara opens its doors to global cultures through such functions and activities and aims to enhance mutual understanding among people of the world.” Belgian ambassador Herman Merckx expressed satisfaction at the large turnout and thanked Katara for hosting the event.
