Qatar-Sudan farming talks
HE the Minister of Environment Ahmed Amer Mohamed al-Humaidi met in Doha yesterday with Sudanese Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Doha. The meeting focused on aspects of co-operation between Qatar and Sudan in agriculture.
Infrastructure meet
Qatar will participate in the Global Infrastructure Conference due to be held in South Korea from September 17-19.
Qatar’s delegation will be headed by Minister of Transport HE Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti .
HE Sulaiti is scheduled to address the opening session and will also hold a session of talks with his Korean counterpart on a number of topics.
Expatriate killed
in road accident
A 19-year-old Pakistani expatriate was killed in a road accident near the Religious Complex area, Mesaimeer, yesterday evening.
The unidentified pedestrian was apparently knocked down by a vehicle. His body was moved to the Hamad General Hospital mortuary.
Indian expat dead
Indian expatriate Abdul Salam Allabaksh (48) died of a brief illness at Hamad General Hospital on Thursday, according to sources in the community.
Allabaksh, a supervisor with the Education Ministry had been in the country for more than two decades. He was a native of Edappalayam in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu. Arrangements are being made to send the body home.
