The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested two persons involved in circulating counterfeit currencies.
The Economic Crime Prevention Section of CID had received information from sources that an individual was distributing fake notes and duping some investors to convert them into original currencies.
The CID apprised the Public Prosecution about the illegal activities of the suspect, following which they raided his home, and arrested another as well. Fake currencies, laptop, printers and other devices were also recovered from their possession.
The suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal procedures.
The CID has urged citizens and residents to co-operate with security personnel by informing the department or calling 999, in case of suspecting or finding any fake notes.
