Qatar Airways has hosted a signature event to celebrate the success of its seventh US destination, Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW).
Launched on July 1, the DFW to Doha route has expanded connectivity to India, the Middle East, East Asia and Australia, the airline has said in a statement.
The event, which was held in Dallas and attended by more than 150 guests from the corporate and travel trade spheres, featured entertainment from Grammy nominee and Texas country music legend Pat Green, Jazz vocalist and rising star on the Dallas music scene Hale Baskin, and Texas guitar hero Rhett Butler.
The evening was hosted by Qatar Airways chief commercial officer Marwan Koleilat, who extended a warm welcome to guests to mark the new link between Dallas/Fort Worth and Qatar, the
statement added.
Qatar Airways launched daily scheduled flights between its hub in Doha and DFW with its flagship Boeing 777 long-haul aircraft offering 259 seats in a two-class configuration of 42 in business and 217 in economy.
DFW is Qatar Airways’ second destination in Texas and the seventh in the US. The airline has been flying daily non-stop to Houston since 2009.
“This event is in celebration of a long-standing relationship between Qatar Airways and the state of Texas. Our success in Houston paved the way for further expansion within Texas. Dallas/Fort Worth’s response to our award-winning five-star service has been overwhelmingly positive so far,” said
Koleilat.
“Qatar Airways and DFW have already proven an extremely successful partnership, one which I hope will continue long into the future,” said Titus Johnson, airline’s vice-president (commercial) for the Americas.
The evening was Arabic-themed, offering hospitality by Qatar Airways’ cabin crew.
During the event, Qatar Airways gave guests the opportunity to experience the luxury and comfort of its Boeing 777 business class seat.
The evening culminated with a grand finale raffle draw, where guests had a chance to win two ticket prizes to any of the over 144 world-wide
destinations of Qatar Airways.
The multi-award winning airline was awarded three accolades at Skytrax Awards 2014 - World’s Best Business Class, Best Middle East Airline and Best Business Class Lounge. It has also been named Airline of the Year by Skytrax, Air Transport News and Business Aviation, and won Best Business Class and Best Airline for International Travel at the recent Business Travel Awards.
Qatar Airways currently flies to eight destinations in North America - Washington, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Miami, Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth and Montreal.
