At the initiative of the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to the United Nations a high-level meeting was held to review the regulatory, administrative and technical procedures taken by Qatar in preparation for the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice due to be held in Doha next year.
Opening the meeting, Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, HE the Ambassador Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif al-Thani, explained that the aim of the high-level meeting is to brief the member states on the regulatory procedures taken by Qatar to host the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
The UN Congress will be held in Doha from 12 to 19 in April 2015 under the theme “Integrating crime prevention and criminal justice into the wider United Nations agenda to address social and economic challenges and to promote the rule of law at the national and international levels, and public participation.”
Dr Ahmed Hassan al-Hammadi, Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Vice-President of the Organising Committee of the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, reviewed the ongoing preparations for the conference, and the procedures taken by the Organising Committee.
