Federation of Nepalese Journalists—Qatar (FNJ) elected its new working committee in its fifth general convention at the Grand Qatar Palace Hotel recently.
The attendees included Nepal’s Acting Ambassador to Qatar Ganesh Prasad Dhakal, Nonresident Nepalese Association—International Committee adviser Narendra Bhatt, FNJ General Secretary Ujir Magar, FNJ central committee member Rohit Dahal and Nonresident Journalists Network Secretary Damodar Nepal.
Journalists Hom Karki, Kumar Karki and Krinti Singh were honoured in the programme for their respective contributions to Nepalese journalism. Likewise, entrepreneurs and Nepali community leaders TB Karki, RK Sharma, Ramesh Bhatta, Karim Box Miya, Kagendra Karki, Narendra Bhatt, Dorna Basnet, Bupa Raj Dawadi, Yubaraj Pandey, Yabuk Rain and Nirajan Bhandari were also felicitated by Acting Ambassador Dhakal.
President of International Nepalese Literary Society—Qatar Tirtha Sangam Rai recited one of his poems about a girl Thuli, describing the struggles, plights and successes of human lives. Nepalese folk singer Buddhisagar Basyal sang a song about the ethics of a journalist.
The convention unanimously elected the new working committee of NFJ—Qatar led by Ganesh Prasad Banjade. Likewise, Dipak Pudashaini was elected as new vice chairman, Muhammad Aziz Ali as secretary, Nawaraj BK as vice-secretary, Ghanshyam Parajuly as treasurer and Karim Box Miya, Bhuwan KC, Mahendra Prasad Pokhrel and Samim Miya as members.
