Inspectors of the Ministry of Economy and Trade have seized counterfeit and expired goods during an inspection tour of northern Qatar. |
The Ministry said its inspectors seized counterfeit accessories bearing international trademarks being sold as genuine ones in a store in Al-kheraitiyat. They also raided a shop selling fake spare parts and auto accessories and fake products including polishes, paints and anti-corrosion products.
The Ministry said it will confiscate the items and start legal proceedings against the two stores and fine them an amount ranging from QR6,000 to QR1mn.
Assistant FM inaugurates financial-mail system
HE the Assistant Foreign Minister for Services Affairs and Follow-up Rashid bin Khalifa al-Khalifa has inaugurated management and financial-mail system as part the ministry’s efforts to move from traditional management to e-governance.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of the ministry’s officials.

HBKU’s translation institute accepting applications
The Language Centre of Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU)’s Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) is now accepting applications for its upcoming language courses. Those interested in learning or mastering a foreign language can enrol in a wide range of courses in one of five languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.Registration for the next term, which runs from January 18 to April 15, is open until January 15. Those interested in pursuing a language course during the summer term, which spans from May 3 to 27, can register between April 18 and 30.
