Citizens and residents should strictly abide by the traffic guidelines throughout the Qatar National Day celebrations, Traffic Department director general Brig Mohamed Saad al-Kharji has urged.
“Do not place pictures, posters and flags all over vehicles in a way that would completely change their colour,” he told a seminar on “Traffic Safety on National Day.”
Do not shade the windshield and rear windows of cars, which prevents the driver from viewing the road, or place decorations that hide the car plates.
Also prohibited are climbing on the roofs of cars and the engine cover, leaning out of the car’s windows and sunroof, blocking traffic and parking in restricted zones, and carrying more than the permitted number of passengers.
Traffic awareness officer Lt Abdul Wahid Gharib al-Anzi, Ft Lt Shahin Rashid al-Atiq of Public Relations Department, Lt Ali Mohamed al-Kubaisi of Traffic Investigation and Patrolling Department and the director of Jassim bin Hamad Independent School Khamis (event venue) Mubarak al-Mohannadi, Dr Ayish al-Qahtani and Hamad Jassim also spoke.
