Oman’s Minister of Civil Service Sheikh Khalid bin Omar bin Said al-Marhoon praised the efforts and role of Qatar Museums in maintaining Gulf and Qatari heritage through the organisation of Mal Lawal Biennale 2 exhibition, which is currently taking place at the Doha Exhibition Centre.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA ), after touring the exhibition, al-Marhoon said that the exhibition will carry over into next generations an important historical information about the region. He said: “I was pleased with the showcasing of collections that represent a historic era in Qatar and the GCC countries and some Arab countries”.
During his tour he was briefed on the unique legacy of Qatari and Gulf citizens’ private collections that will revive memories of cultural and historical community’s legacy which has a major value among members of the community.
Oman’s Minister of Civil Service was accompanied during his tour by HE Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi, Minister of Administrative Development, and Omani Ambassador to Qatar Mohamed bin Nasser bin Hamad al-Wahaibi along with a number of Qatar Museums’ officials.
Meanwhile, HE the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Dr Abdullah Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi met Omani Minister of Civil Service Sheikh Khalid bin Omar bin Said al-Marhoon in Doha yesterday.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between and means of enhancing and developing them, in addition to several issues of common concern.
Senior officials at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs attended the meeting along with Oman’s Ambassador to Doha Mohamed bin Nasser al-Wahaibi and the delegation accompanying the Omani minister attended the meeting.
