Ooredoo provides state-of-the-art ‘Cloud Security Solution’ for Al Khaliji

Sheikh Nasser with al-Khalifa following the Ooredoo-Al Khaliji agreement on ‘Cloud Security Solution’.

Ooredoo and Al Khalij Commercial Bank (Al Khaliji) have signed a new agreement that will see the former providing an integrated Cloud Security solution that will deliver the highest level of security for customer and institutional information.
With levels of cyber-crime rising in the region, more and more financial organisations are upgrading their security systems to ensure that hackers and malware are unable to penetrate their defences.
Al Khaliji is the first bank in Qatar and in GCC region to sign-up for Ooredoo’s Cloud Security, which is hosted at Ooredoo’s Data Centre, one of the “most advanced” data centres in the region. The solution manages and protects against online vulnerabilities for web, mobile and any newer channels of communication that use the Internet to share data. It covers some 400 users within Al Khaliji through an ‘Advanced Web Suite’ that is based at the Ooredoo Data Centre but which is accessible via “the cloud” anywhere in the world.
Ooredoo chief New Business Officer Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser al-Thani said, “We would like to thank Al Khaliji for being the first bank to implement Ooredoo’s Cloud Security Solution. This solution offers businesses in Qatar the highest level of online data security. We know that peace of mind and data protection are the most important things when it comes to looking after customer information, which is why we’re delivering the newest and best technology through our Data Centres.”
Al Khaliji Group chief executive officer Fahad al-Khalifa said, “Since online security is a key concern for us and for our customers, we are investing in the very latest solutions backed by Ooredoo’s robust infrastructure and world-class networks. We are proud to be the first bank in Qatar to implement this Cloud Security solution, since it demonstrates our pioneering approach to offering the highest levels of security and service to our customers.”
Al Khaliji Group chief operating officer Hesham EzzEldin said: “The security of online activities is always our concern, to protect our customer’s online transactions and businesses with Al Khaliji. Our partnership with Ooredoo enabled Al Khaliji to replace the in-house security solution in terms of hardware and software, with a cloud solution that has not only helped us to rationalise the cost of security but also enabled us to protect our business and customers in an efficient approach based on multi layers of security adopting the international cloud security standards.”
