One day after falling behind 3-0 in a home loss, the Tampa Bay Lightning bounced back nicely, jumping out to a three-goal lead on the way to a win against the Anaheim Ducks.
Tampa Bay (34-16-5) got a key two points in the standings against Anaheim (34-13-7), which came into the game leading the NHL with 75 points.
The Lightning now lead the East with 73 points, including a league-best 22 home wins.
Brian Boyle finished with two goals to lead the way for Tampa Bay.
Anaheim trailed 5-1 in the third period, and got scores by Ryan Getzlaf, Eric Brewer and Sami Vatanen.
Blackhawks 4, Blues 2
Marian Hossa scored a power-play goal at 11:19 of the third period to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Chicago Blackhawks to a win over the St. Louis Blues.
Hossa finished with two goals for the Blackhawks (33-18-2) who also got 25 saves from goaltender Corey Crawford.
The Blues (34-15-4), coming off their worst loss of the season, 7-1 Friday night in Chicago, suffered only their second home loss in regulation since Nov. 11.
Canadiens 3, Bruins 1
The Montreal Canadiens finished off a four-game season sweep of the rival Boston Bruins.
First-line wingers Dale Weise and Max Pacioretty both scored a goal and set up another, and Carey Price stopped 34 shots, losing a shutout on a goal by rookie right winger David Pastrnak with 4:31 left in the game.
The Bruins (28-18-7) then pressed for the tying goal but didn’t really come close. Montreal (34-15-3) defenseman Andrei Markov’s long, empty-net goal sealed it with 30.5 seconds remaining.
Predators 3, Panthers 2 (Shootout)
Rookie Filip Forsberg got the tying goal in regulation and the winning goal in the shootout as the Nashville Predators rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Florida Panthers.
The Predators (35-12-6) now lead the Central Division by four points over the St. Louis Blues, who lost earlier Sunday.
The Panthers (23-17-11) also got a strong game in goal from Roberto Luongo, who made 34 saves.
Stars 3, Rangers 2 (OT)
Ales Hemsky scored 1:02 into overtime to give the Dallas Stars a victory against the New York Rangers.
The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Stars.
The Rangers (30-16-5) lost two straight since starting goaltender Henrik Lundqvist left the lineup with a vascular injury. He will be out at least three weeks. Talbot stopped 22 shots and took his second straight loss.
Erik Cole and Jason Spezza also scored for the Stars (24-21-8).
Flyers 3, Capitals 1
Wayne Simmonds scored his first even-strength goal since Dec. 23 to give Philadelphia a third-period lead, and goaltender Ray Emery stopped six shots in relief of starting netminder Steve Mason to lead the Flyers to a win over the Washington Capitals.
The Flyers’ (23-22-8) win was their fifth in six games (5-0-1), but they lost Mason to a lower-body injury in the process as the goaltender skated off while flexing his right leg at 11:18 in the second period.
Alex Ovechkin scored the lone goal for the Capitals (28-16-10).
Jets 5, Avalanche 3
The Winnipeg Jets struck for four goals in the second period and held on for a victory over the Colorado Avalanche.
Dustin Byfuglien, playing up front for the third straight game after a long stint on the blue line, scored his 13th goal of the season and chipped in a pair of assists for the Jets (27-18-10), who stopped a six-game winless slide that began after the NHL All-Star break.
Mathieu Perreault, Ben Chiarot and Bryan Little also netted for Winnipeg in the second.
Islanders 3, Sabres 2
Colin McDonald, Anders Lee and Mikhail Grabovski scored to lead the New York Islanders to a victory over the Buffalo Sabres.
Goaltender Jaroslav Halak made just eight saves for New York in the victory. It was the first regulation win for the Islanders (34-18-1) since Jan. 27.
Right wingers Marcus Foligno and Drew Stafford scored for the Sabres (16-35-3), who mounted a comeback but were unable to tie the game.
